- My background is Database Modelling and Large Systems Design (15 yrs) historically in Oracle and Ingres. I spend a number of years consulting to Oracle Corporation here in Brisbane, and have worked across a number of industry sectors/locations.
- Please tell us what operating system you use, which version of MySQL, how long you've been using MySQL, and what application languages or tools for interfacing with MySQL!

I work almost solely with CentOS 4.0/4.1 at present (www.centos.org). Using MySQL 4.0/4.1. Have been using MySQL about 6 years now. Most development I do is with Java/JSP/JSTL or PHP.

Here's a proposal. 6-6:30 informal meetup. 6:30-7:00 MySQL news/events + each person share 1 piece of interesting website/tool/information. 7pm-8pm a formal presentation, followed by Q&A. I also propose we start generating traffic either with the meetup list, or a new NY mysql ug list. An opportunity to network with larger groups (e.g. NY Tech Meetup), getting some chance to plug MySQL there, will provide greater exposure. Marc's idea about the RedHat Xen demo a great one. ”
