I am interested in MySQL, having used it casually as a software developer now and then. I currently live in the USA, but want to visit Singapore, possibly later this winter, and meet other technical professionals.

Where are you working/studying?
I work in Chantilly, Virginia, USA, as a software engineer, on an Environmental Protection Agency contract doing Java web development, with a little JRuby.
How long have you been using MySQL?
Off and on, for many years; but I'm a novice, as my real specialty is programming. I'm writing a JRuby DBA framework (still in infancy), and would like some help w/MySQL implementation.
