Conserning Business Intelligence, I would like to see a comparison of the open source stack with the major players, such as Oracle and MicroSoft. Topics which include OLAP and Data Warehouse issues would be awesome.----- Original Message ----

Seriously though, as long as it doesn't get into a "postgres is better
than mysql cuz it does this", or a "well mysql can do that too" I
think it'll definitely help.
I have a lot to learn about databases, and I think a civilized
discussion as to what postgresql offers would be great. Again some of
the things I want to know may be rudimentary and I could probably
find out myself if I tried hard enough, but this is also my attempt to
find like minded geeks in san antonio :).
I think it should be possible to discuss differences between mysql and postgresql without resorting to a throwdown. :-) However, it may be useful to point out flaws in each database so that workarounds or fixes can be discussed.
Do we have a location for the next meeting? The rackspace maze was
fun, I'd be willing to go there again, I just live all the way by the
new RS HQ so the drive around 6:30pm is fun..
Would it be better or worse to have a meeting on a Saturday?
