Database Administrator

Are you ready for a new challenge? Our client is looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join their development team. In this role you will architect, maintain, tune and analyze all aspects of a production database for one of the leading service providers in the triangle.

Responsibilities
• Create data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
• Advise CTO on capacity requirements for the database.
• Develop and implement redundancy plans.
• Provide maintenance and support of our mission critical platform to insure industry leading availability, performance, and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain and develop procedures to ensure security and integrity of the database.
• Review and approve schema and queries from software developers.
• Administer and support existing databases while insuring optimized performance, stability, and up time.
• Analyze performance and architecture to optimize performance and integrity.
• Participate in the implementation of redundancy plans.

Required:
• Advanced knowledge with MySQL 5.X.
• Experience with InnoDB.
• Strong Linux/Solaris skills.
• Proven ability to set up and manage replication databases.
• Basic understanding of networking.
• Four year degree or equivalent. Four year minimum in a DBA role.

Preferred:
• Experience with web servers and server farms.
• Experience with storage solutions.
• Works at a smaller to mid size company allow a broader operational view.
